Have you ever noticed the tendency that women have of tearing down other women? Perhaps it’s a colleague competing with you at work, or maybe a friend who tries to one you up. Whatever the situation, it can sting. Why do women do this to each other? And moreover, how we can overcome this bad habit and start being kinder to each other? In our new podcast, we spoke with our returning guest Alison Donaghey about what compels women to tear each other down and how we can choose kindness instead.

Alison believes that worthiness is the foundation of EVERYTHING we do. We can connect with our worth internally (yay) and have a strong foundation in life or we can connect with it externally (super sad face) and have a foundation built on sand.

Alison Donaghey joins us to talk about wanting to be a cat burglar and settling on being an entrepreneur in many different fields. She started her own painting business and now has a business promoting self worth among other endeavors.

The conversation with Alison is a delightful one. She shares the story of getting pregnant at 18, being on welfare to feed her child, and then ending up living with a drug addict. Today she is strong and does amazing work. I know you’re going to enjoy this podcast episode. In it we talk about the importance of understanding your worth and having a strong sense of self value.

I was interviewed on the VISIBLE KINDNESS podcast with Ed Squire.

Are you tired of feeling like other people are more in control of your life than you are?

Worthiness is the foundation to every single thing you do, say, think or feel, it is the foundation that everything else is built upon.

One of the worst things is how we are “triggered” by feeling we are the ‘victim’, that poor-me attitude and being allergic to taking responsibility for our actions. Typically portraying ‘unfortunates’ who demand to be rescued.

Are you aware of the consequences of your thoughts?

There is a double-edged sword to everything, so every movement that we are involved with has a positive and a negative. We have to be careful which side we attach ourselves to.

When we understand our worthiness, then we can actually stop being a victim.

I never thought a speech I gave would
    change my life.

In January 2018 I gave a speech called
#MyPart, where I talked about when I was raped in high school and it wasn’t
until I understood how I co-created (#MyPart) the experience, without
shame or guilt and most certainly without approving his behaviour,
that I was able to stop being his victim.

Alison Donaghey is a Radio Host of The Alison Donaghey Show, Author of an international best-selling book Think Opposite: Using the Domino Effect to Change Your Business, Change the World, Speaker, and a Cause and Effect Strategist and will expand your mind in ways you didn’t think possible.

I got mad and then curious.”

Alison Donaghey sharing on moving from victim space to freedom space.

Her latest project is #MyPart. Accepting our part in every single situation we find ourselves in which brings us to a place of true empowerment with the goal to see ourselves as part of humanity as a whole rather than dividing it into victims and victimizers, oppressed and oppressor thus moving towards understanding the inherent value of everyone.

Curiosity asks us to put aside our opinions, beliefs and judgements and to open ourselves to experience something new, something different, something that might spark something within you.

Alison Donaghey is a speaker, author, radio host and cause and effect strategist. My latest project is #mypart and I believe true empowerment comes from accountability.
