Competition is a Bad Thing with Dave Blum

Sometimes things are just fun… and I think treasure hunts are so much fun and talking with Dave Blum about the treasure hunts he creates was my idea of a good time! We talked about:

  • Does your work float your boat?
  • Non-human enemies
  • The danger of objectifying your opponent
  • Team building vs. teaming
  • Experimental learning
  • Separate performance from self-worth
  • How does play impact relationships?
  • Is competition effective?
  • I am a loser vs. I lost
  • Winning, losing and worthiness

Dave Blum is Founder and President of Dr. Clue Treasure Hunts, the world's largest team-building treasure hunt company, Dave Blum earned a B.A. in English from Pomona College in Claremont, California, a professional coaching certification from IPEC, and is immediate past president of Santa Rosa, CA Toastmasters. After a three-year stint teaching English in Japan, Dave worked in tourism and the non-profit sector before discovering his destiny as a treasure hunt master, team-building trainer, writer, and speaker.
